Illusions: Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

One of my favorite quotes of all time comes from the wonderful book by Richard Bach: Illusions: Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah.

Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they’re yours.

Think about that. Have you found that to be true?

When you find yourself making excuses…

justifying your results (or lack of results)…

or playing victim…

Aren’t you ARGUING for being limited? And aren’t you then giving up all power to take back control of your own life?

Could it be that…

When we INSIST something is true, that truth then becomes our actual reality?

Could it be that…

What we ARGUE for (or against) literally becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy?

We LITERALLY manifest what we believe?

If so (which has been my experience), then why not INSIST UPON that which we want versus that which we don’t want?

  • Instead of insisting “we can’t” – how about insisting not only “we can” but “it’s done”…
  • Instead of insisting on our excuses for staying small, we insist the universe bend to our will…
  • Instead of playing the old childhood tapes of fear, ridicule and embarrassment –  stand tall in your genius and share it with the world.

It’s comforting, really.

Because now you can just speak into existence exactly how you want the music of your life to play out.

Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they’re yours.

Or you can argue for exactly what you want.

And have it.

All of it.

If you dare.
