This blog has never been the most dazzling thing to look at, but the last 30 days has seen it taken a turn for the worse.
Not the design. The design is what it is. Plain. Simple. Nothing glamorous or fancy. Because I have NO CLUE how to do a “make pretty” and I’d rather spend my time finding out some more good stuff to share.
No, the challenge has been the most recent posts. Not the look of the posts but the content.
I wanted (and needed) to make these particular posts for marketing purposes but really didn’t want them show up on the front page because the content really did add value to you guys specifically.

Over the past 30 days I’ve gone on a focused marketing campaign to promote my new Proven Profit Systems site, a domain I have ported on top of the MLM Lead System Pro platform. This a one of the largest, most profitable attraction marketing systems available for struggling network marketers to use to literally create leads on demand, put hundreds (even thousands) of dollars in their pockets and personally recruit more people into their primary businesses.
My initial marketing model has been “attraction marketing” based on article marketing. And, along the way, I’ve recorded the process and created a free 5-Day Attraction Marketing Bootcamp. Then went on to write, publish and promote articles to promote the bootcamp as well.
The KEY to effective article marketing is to target a specific niche, find the exact keyword phrases they are typing into the search engines, sort through these keywords to find those with lots of traffic but little online competition, write, publish and then promote the article to get massive backlinks points to the article. Backlinks help articles or posts or web pages to rank well. A lesser known SECRET is to post your content on the “best authority site” you have available as this page stands the greatest chance of ranking the fastest… and, in my case, this blog is one of the best things going to achieve quick indexing.
Ezinearticles.com is a good authority site as well but they can take 7-10 days just to approve your article and I didn’t feel like waiting around.
So I posted copies of these article here, for marketing purposes, but the content isn’t really want I want to share on this blog. Hmm. Dilemma.

Wonderful! I found this plug in this morning and with a simple click of a box… the post your really don’t want to appear on your front page, category pages or even tag pages is hidden!

So, yes, I’ll still be posting a LOT of keyword rich articles here on this blog but I will “hide posts” if and when the post is meant for marketing purposes only. If you are interested in studying these hidden posts for watch over my shoulder as I keyword optimize them and provide various calls-to-action… you can find them in the various categories: Opportunity Reviews and Product Reviews primary. I may be adding a few more. We’ll see how it goes.

Hi Rob,
When I had my blog designed I asked if I could have categories and pages on my blog, so I just created a category for company review etc that way when I don’t add a company review etc I can just bury it in my blog only for the search engines, or if searches through that category.
I am curious Rob, which one are you more focused on? Getting you blog ranked on the first page or are you still heavily focusing on getting articles ranked?

There is no difference, in my opinion. Even if you focus on “article marketing” by submitting to the article directories, you should always host a copy on your own site and get backlinks to both. This gives you two chances of winning the search engine ranking wars.
