Promoting your business online?

Interested in producing even greater, faster, more profitable results?

Then you must measure your internet marketing results because the devil really is in the details.

Let’s take a closer look…

Measuring Your Internet Marketing Results

The internet is the perfect medium for direct response marketing and, by definition, direct response marketing means:

Direct-response marketing is a form of marketing designed to solicit a direct response which is specific and quantifiable.

In other words, if you are truly “in the game” then you need to “know the numbers” by measuring your internet marketing results so you can determine what is working, what is not working, what is profitable and what isn’t.

  • Is your article marketing strategy worth the time and effort?
  • Can you pull a profit using Google Pay-Per-Click or Facebook Ads?
  • Is there room to improve click-to-sale conversions?

All of these direct response metrics (and more) can and should be measured. After all, it’s been noted that “Half my advertising works. The problem is I don’t know which half!” And if you continue to market by the seat of your pants instead of actually know your internet marketing results exactly… you really aren’t in much better shape. You could be spending more time and effort than is necessary or you could even be leaving a boat load of money on the table.

Easily Visible Internet Marketing Results

How an article, page or blog posts ranks on the search engines is one very easy way of determining if your online promotional efforts are working:

Search Engine Ranking Results

Internet Marketing Results - Search Engine Rankings

If your content is ranking on the front page of Google, Bing or Yahoo – consider yourself blessed or extremely lucky. Your marketing is working.

Personally, I keep a simple spreadsheet listing all of my web pages, articles, videos and blog posts – along with the keywords they were designed to rank for – and keep a running score card of how they rank by date. You can also use automated software to track the same thing like Market Samurai’s Rank Tracker. In addition I track EXACTLY what I have done in the promotion of each page. For example, I mark down when I have completed each “promotion” like:

In addition to tracking when and in what order these promotions take place – I also track the EFFECT each has on my internet marketing results with the goal of ELIMINATING those things that are not needed. For example, if it takes only four of the seven routines to hit the front page of google (and I know this because I measure how each page ranks and when)… then I can SAVE TIME by not completing the rest of the routines. Make sense?

Measuring Your Article Marketing Results

Are you articles getting views? Are your articles getting URL click-through rates? Is there room for improvement? Do you get more views and conversions from ezinearticles.com, www.articlesbase.com or hubpages? Do you get better results by promoting the article url to get it to rank on the search engines or is this extra effort a waste of time?

How would you know unless you measure your internet marketing results?

Simple math indicates here a slight increase in conversion rates could mean a huge improvement in business. Perhaps it’s time to test and measure the results of changing your call to action?

Target Marketing Results

Target marketing is all about focusing on the needs, wants and challenges of a specific demographic niche. Perhaps “stay at home moms” or “frustrated network marketers”. But how do you know if you are campaigns, headlines and offers are attracting the right people? Are you tracking how many leads your efforts are producing? How many sales the leads are turning into? If not, why not?

Internet Marketing Results – Web Site Traffic

Are you seeing an INCREASE or DECREASE in web site traffic? Do you know why?

What topics seem to attract more people? If you know than you can spend more time focusing on that type of content.

What is more sticky – what keeps people on your site longer… video, audio or copy? Does it make a difference in conversion to sale or opt-in?

Here’s the bottom line…

If you are not measuring and recording your internet marketing results – then you simple do not know what is work and what isn’t. You’re flying blind in a blizzard. Which can be hazardous.

Worse, you could be leaving a tremendous amount of money on the table and why would you want to do that?

Hey Rob, excellent post. I was wondering how the heck you were able to get upwards of around 9,000 backlinks for some keywords! Are you using any type of software for rss submissions? Are you pinging the URLs of all the article directories you are paying to with AMR and UAW?

Keep up the great work! I’m learning so much from you!

Thanks again,

Tom Pacheco

See my bootcamp – but we basically use any and every tool to get backlinks. Right now we use AMR, UAW, ABC and Senuke – the Linklicious.me to ping all the urls. If one pass through the process doesn’t get us to rank, then we do more. LOTS more since these are all automated programs.
